United Kingdom Is th UK version of I spit on your Grave (new version) cut?

Because i don't get this here it says on 07/02/11 on BBFC that no cuts was made http://www.bbfc.co.uk/AVF271143/

And here it says on 25/08/2010 on BBFC that it was cut
http://www.bbfc.co.uk/BFF271143/

So does that mean it isn't cut on the Blu Ray and DVD?

Actually I think the top link means that after it was cut, it was submitted again with no cuts made. The running times seem to suggest this.

I think that there was something like 42 seconds cut by the BBFC but the distributor replaced the cut materiel with additional footage.

It does seem strange, I sometimes find it a bit hard to properly navigate the BBFC's website. Didn't mind the old design.

Although the BBFC usually states if there was substitution of footage.

That's like saying only the flying scenes from Superman are cut.

It's a nasty film and incredibly badly made but I see no reason to continually cut it or even censor it.

That's a whole different thing but in the meantime people should not buy it and let the distributor know why and one day they maybe have the balls to challenge the BBFC's unlawful activites (they were -and admitted to- acting unlawfully for decades and I'm sure they still are if someone could test it).

The BBFC is a private company and are mostly ignored now so they like to hang on to whatever they can -and banning a POS film like this won't get them too many critics. Which is ironic I suppose because nobody cares so nobody talks about the BBFC except old timers like me.

Import it but do not support the UK release.

But the BBFC have to cut in accordance with the law, under the Video Recordings Act 1984 and 2010. I'm pretty sure the BBFC aren't ignored, otherwise films like this and Grotesque (which is banned) would've been released fine. How are the BBFC acting unlawfully? The film industry itself was supposed to have been responsible for the BBFC in accordance with the Cinematograph Act 1909.

i hate that they cut the home releases. That is just wrong. I get the theater versions but home video releases i don't get

On that note it is really hilarious in a bad way that they cut the 3rd narnia. So do you guys think it is out of the question they will release I spit on your grave uncut in germany?

The BBFC don't have to cut anything and they can't be obliged too either -they're a private company after all. They change their mind all the time and go with how the wind blows very often [like a private company].

The BBFC have very little oxygen now so it's really just a farewell gesture that they still ban films [they can get away with].

All the UK distributor has to do is ship the disc from outside UK waters. Why they don't do that I don't know. Put a digital token code in the UK box (with the extras disc if there is one) and enter it on a website -and away you go.

Well, it's probably to make it seem as if the BBFC still has purpose. It's losing it's video game classification "power" this year. On another note, I haven't actually seen this film or the original. Might pick it up, but it's not priority.

I didn't know they were losing video game censorship -that alone gives you an idea of their importance or relevance.

I think classification is a good idea because there's a lot of really dumb people out there but banning and cutting is not acceptable unless it's something obviously criminal and then only the prosecuting authorities should be involved and a jury of course. Not a private company with as much responsibility to the public as your local shoe shop.

ISOYG is crap and I never understood people's liking for it. I didn't like the original Last House on The Left (like the remake) either and ISOYG makes LHOTL look like Lawrence of Arabia. It's badly made which is the main problem for me.

Whatever people think of it I want them to see it if they want to see it and of course they will no matter what anyone says. There endeth the whole censorship debate. People will watch it and decide for themselves.

Yeah, people should be able to decide for themselves. I guess the original film is a video nasty, as it were.

Works out to £16, which is the rough price you'd be paying for the inferior UK disc, anyway.

Wow, we've just managed to circumlocute the entire Unitied Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland's censorship system with a couple of hyperlinks.

At this rate people power will be removing governments next

Hmmm

I think censorship is BS. Even on normal TV you see people shooting each other and thats not acceptable in normal daily life is it?

Picking and choosing what you see and don't is more like dictatorship, not censorship.
