Looks like those two titles are getting a lot of votes for blu ray 3D. I hope it happens soon.

Damon, that anaglyph version has some of us seeing red and others of us feeling blue.

It's worth mentioning that HONDO has been beautifully restored in widescreen 3-D by Gretchen Wayne and the John Wayne Estate. It was scanned in 4K with Digital Ice from the 35mm left/right camera negatives. In a word: stunning.

The 3-D masters are ready to go. This would be VERY easy to release on 3-D Blu-ray!

If the Wayne estate invested in its restoration and 4k scan, I'm very surprised they they haven't pushed the studio to release it, or simply released it themselves (if they have the rights).

Oh! You guys probably weren't talking about the anaglyph version were you? Now my face is red; I feel like maybe I "blue" it.

I think Paramount has the rights but only elected to release the 2D version in 2012.

Gretchen Wayne told me in 2013 that she offered the 3-D master to Paramount but they weren't interested.

Paramount would have been the first studio to release a classic film on 3-D Blu-ray.

Paramount is easily the worst studio of the bunch when it comes to their treatment of older movies. I'm still waiting for releases of the two Brady Bunch movies on Blu-Ray, and their treatment of the pre-Abrams Star Trek films has been atrocious, repackaging the same sub-standard transfers over and over again with TWOK being the only exception and only, I suspect, because it can be vaguely connected to the second entry in the new Abrams Trek movie franchise.

The people running their home video division must be absolute dunces.

Or Paramount hasn't given them much of a budget to work with to restore older films. Not sure.
