So I really want to get TrueHD and I'm thinking of buying the Pioneer 7.1-Channel XM Ready HDMI 1.3 Receiver . Will this detroy my older JBL satelite speakers and sub or should I be fine. Also, feel free to comment on this receiver. I am hoping it is a good one but I really have no idea.

i actually like the pioneers version (im not sure if this is the flagship).
this is also up there with the denon avr3808 and the onkyo txsr805, with all three able to handle hdmi 1.3's newer capabilities. if i was given an option, id rather wait a bit further on, due to the ces being almost over, and revealing new products available out there. |

Yeah, do NOT mix impedance. Don't use 8 ohm speakers in the front and 6 or 4 in the rear and/or center. You're asking for trouble. As long as the rubber surrounds on your cones are intact, you're good to go. No such thing as a 'digital' speaker... they're all good, all will work, just watch the impedance.
