India/Bollywood India Hollywood BD releases.

So I thought it would be nice to have a thread for the English BD releases in India.. i mean i know alot of members are from around the world and they visit this section to get news on Bollywood films.. but this is the "India" section for blu rays.. and since india doesnt always get all the Hollywood releases i thought we should have a section to discuss the releases for BDs from hollywood in India.

I know Beauty and the beast / Karate Kid / hurt locker ... just released.

anyone know if Avatar (special edition) and Inception has a release date in india yet?

even if u r residing in India, it makes much more sense to buy it from Amzon.com. If the disc is authored in India , the studios seem to screw it up ( I dont know whether they knowingly introduce an inferior but cheap product in the Indian markets ). case in point sony solidly screwed up 2012 and disney screwed up Alice in wonderland. Avatar seems to be the only exception to this rule.

Btw Hurt Locker belongs to Summit. Who will release it in india ??

I bought the steelbook in KL on the 16th afternoon. Looks cool and cover like the UK version but clean without any stickers.

I don't know from which site you guys are ordering, but from Amazon.uk wont't take more than 10 days with normal shipping. Again the shipping charges will get compensated with VAT return, its almost like free shipping on actual price.

Well even then you might end up paying extra for shipping from Amazon US but won't be much of a difference in delivery time. I do got couple of discs from Amazon US which were delivered in 15 days.
8 weeks for delivery is really ridiculous unless one made a pre-order of a disc which will be released after 6 weeks

Landmark is a lazy liar. They still do not have Mohabbatein and DHoom nor any re-released stock of Yashraj discs. Though they got OUITM and Kites on time, They are stil far away to get 3i and Dabang. Go figure.

Even in Mumbai , landmark is possibly the last one to get stock of blu rays. They are the worst when it comes to blu rays

under the normal post Amazon.com does take 4-5 weeks for delivery unlike Amazon.co.uk which delivers in 10-15 days. But i have always had to pay duty on my UK Packages ( just paid for my Alien Anthology set) unlike the US packages

I hate it ....why do we get ripped off in Indian releases of Hollywood BDs? Was so esxcited about Toy Story 3 @ 799 INR but even that is an inferior release. It is just a 1BD + 1DVD and is not the the 2-Disc blu ray with hours of loaded extras that I was waiting for.

Similarly Inception is open for pre-orders (release date 7 Dec) but that again is single and missing the 2nd Blu Ray of extras.

Avatar seems to be the only one in recent ones getting fully identical release of the Extended editions. Btw, for the extended edtition, Steelbook @ 1999 and normal pack at 1499 all are easily available in all stores of bangalore.

For TS3 and Inception, there is no option left for me but but to import the Discs.

I'm also disappointed with my copy of TS3,the extras are hardly worth remembering.(same with Pirates of carrbn 2,no extras)
And atleast Disney can have an excuse, quoting the low price, but the worst offenders are Big home. Not only their BD's the most expensive, they come stripped of most of the features.I brought "How to train ur dragon",which again is a One disc(2 disc internationally)& most of the best spl features r deleted!same was the case with Ironman1.
Clearly,Big home BD's are not value for money?

Even Sony come down on BDs from their 1799/- Tag. BHV is ridiculously pricing 1299/- and above for Hollywood BDs.
