A.X.L. - (first-time viewing, hoopla)
This was fine.
It's the kind of harmless, forgettable family flick that you'd expect to see in the early/mid-90's (with the practical/iffy-CG robot dog to match). It's just a little surprising that it got a theatrical release in 2018.

A strange movie to kick off the year, but I told my son we could stay up late for a sleepover thing, and he picked it.
