Just wondering what are a few blu-rays people think didn't deserve the negativity they received? Be it because of PQ, AQ, special features, etc.
One for me would be Tombstone. It only scored a 3 in PQ here, but I couldn't believe how great it looked in person. The big one would be the Lionsgate/Studio Canal release of Ran. Sure there is a 4K remaster now, but this release was much more solid than I would have imagined. There was so much negativity when this was released that I was prepared for the worst, but when I got it in, I couldn't believe how good it actually looked. I've bought the film three times on DVD and this was a huge improvement on all of them, even the Criterion. A very solid release. Just wondering what everyone else tinks. |
