I think you might have Spider-verse at 15-20m higher.

I'll say Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. I think Mortal Engines will come second.

Spider-verse got the weekend to itself almost. Eastwood might be an upset second beating Jackson and his Mortal Engines, we'll have to see. The buzz seems to have died down around the Eastwood film.

The Mule is the kind of movie to have a low opening but have legs.

Yep...older-skewing films don't depend on an opening weekend to make a profit. It should play well into January, and beyond if the Oscars take notice.

SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE - 42.5 MILLION
THE MULE - 14.735 MILLION
MORTAL ENGINES - 12.9 MILLION

Will anyone be stupid enough to go see Once Upon a Deadpool?

I don't see Spider-Man making less than 40 million; The Mule could gross anywhere between 10 and 20 million; no idea about Mortal Engines, except that it's gonna flop hard.

Do you not watch R-Rated movies? Because otherwise I don't know why someone would watch an edited version of a movie that was already out. And in theaters no less.

Of course I do.

Speaking for myself, I am interested in how they present it. If this were simply an airline version, I would have no interest. However, the framing device sounds clever enough that I feel there is added value worth my money, and I trust Reynolds and the writers enough to know that they aren't doing this solely for financial reasons, but because they feel they can do something that doesn't totally dilute the essence of the character.

It's not dissimilar to the pop-up version of Private Parts that used to air on non-premium cable. They are simply mitigating the loss of footage with added bits that make it a separate companion to the existing piece.

I mean, it is for financial reasons. They would not do it if they didn't need to secure a China release.

Also, if they had anything faith in Once Upon A Deadpool it wouldn't be opening in around 500 theaters. They're just doing the bare minimum for it.
