Am I getting pcm and or uncompressed - Blu-ray Forum

Im using the 5.1 outs on my blu-ray sony bd 300 into my reciever a sony str-k502-p. I tested Black Hawk down and I got audio, which to me sounded good. Am I hearing Pcm-5.1? its what I selected from the menu, I questiong just because my reciever is a little old, and also am wondering if i can get uncompressed lossless with the 5.1 set up. Sorry , I know This sounds a little newbie but any comments would be appreciated

sounds like you got it straight...hit the "display" button on the bd remote, it will show you what exactly youre listening to.

if you got any questions:

Have an old school receiver and want Lossless audio??

Yeah Im getting it, just put in underworld and wow, compared to just reg.5.1 it packs a punch
