Yep and Ong Bak. I want these in HD for the release of Ong Bak 2!

I'm really waiting for Hero on Blu. Crouching Tiger was great, but I preferred Hero. Amazon has it listed, that's all, and I signed up to be alerted when it is available.

Also, it's tricky to do a search for "Hero" on this thread. Seems to be a very common word.

Would love both, as for Ong Bak, that is one of the dumbest movies I have ever seen. And the language in it sounds like they are kids, the acting is horrid, and the special effects look like I could afford the study who finished them up.

Same here. I just hope when they do the transfers for both these films to HD that it isn't inconsistent like House of Flying Daggers.

It appeared in a recent Sony add in Empire Magazine a couple of months ago. It had a picture of the cover artwork but no release date.

What special effects?
The movie only used real stunts.

"Jaa is charmingly fearless in the lead role, performing all his own stunts without any special effects, computer enhancement, or ropes."

According to reviews the German release of Hero looked pretty bad. Let's hope The US release will be better. I remember Paidgeek mentioning a really bad master for Tiger, so it needs some work for sure.

The Protector looked pretty sweet in SD already (at least the UK Contender edition did).

You can argue about the movie plot, but if you know anything about martial arts you can't but admire the work of Tony Jaa (without the help of wires or any other cheap tricks). To me that movie is simply spectacular

I would like 2 movies in Blu...which I know might not see the day of light in Blu.

Bullet In The Head.....hard to find in DVD with a good transfer...the copy I have is on VHS.

The Killer....Criterion did a excellent tranfer on this which I have but will get in Blu in a heartbeat.

I would like Crouching Tiger an House of Flying Daggers if they can get a good master to redo in BLu.

Hero is in my top 5 most wanted. I PM'd Paid last summer and he replied that it was not being worked on yet. Hopefully it will get released this year though.
CES '06 showed the box art for Hero, so I wonder what happened with it. Maybe it has not been released yet because HoFD did not do as well as Sony had hopped?
