Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon

Saw this in Dublin HMV yesterday. They're selling the steelbook edition for 24 Euro. Anyone picked it up yet? I'm hoping this has a decent AV presentation.

i have it ordered from play, part of a 2 for €29 deal so got it for €14.50! i refuse to buy anything in irish stores unless it's heavily discounted.... and even then i could probably find it cheaper online.

I noticed that, but what did you order with it?
Nothing else really catches my eye in that deal.
Is this officially an Irish-only thread??

i think i got it with the motorcycle diaries... not sure really, i've bought ten in total as part of that offer!

Crouching Tiger is another Super 35 film which means a softer overall image compared to a film shot with an anamorphic Panavision camera.

The reduced sharpness is product of the smaller overall negative, since the camera negative is cropped and then enlarged and then printed with an anamorphic look for the theater presentation.

I watched about 10 mins of the disc last night. It's comparable to other Super 35 Blu-rays - T2, Ferris B. Day Off, Air Force One, Apollo 13 (HD DVD disc) and if you consider The Good, The Bad and the Ugly which used a similar cropped negative process. All have less detail and sharpness.
