Sunshine - Availability Issues? - Blu-ray Forum

Hey everyone - just got back in from work and my first stop this morning was Best Buy. I was there right at opening to quickly snatch up the following:

3:10 To Yuma
Con Air
The Rock
Sunshine

I could not find them on the shelf so I check their "cart" that was loaded up in the isle. Found them there. However, there was only ONE copy of Sunshine and only a couple copies of each of the other movies. My question - is Sunshine availability limited? Anyone having issues getting it?

I ask because the store I went to had only one copy. Another store I called also only had one copy. I searched Best Buy online and they are showing all 6 stores near me as UNAVAILABLE.

Curious - please post!

All 4 of those movies are available at all locations near me.

yeah i was planning on getting it after work...and checked best buys site...all unavailable...but you know that unavailable means 0 or 1 in store copies - because they give the last copy to in store shoppers....so it could still be there..but theres definitely not many out there

I look online at Best Buy and it said the same thing for me, all of them show Unavailable. Said thing is it doesn't say Limited Availability for in-store Pick-up like Resident Evil 1. I called the closest Bestbuy and they said they don't have it, but I could order from there website.

I replied sure, but I can't use my $20 off Blu-ray Coupon when I buy 3.

Second week Best buy didn't have 3 Blu-ray movies in stock that I really want. Only 2

i went to best buy about 30 minutes after opening for 3:10 to Yuma and Sunshine they had quite a few copies of Yuma but only one copy of Sunshine i almost didnt see it it was on the back end of their like big new release stand they had set up and it was mixed in with something else.

I was at bestbuy an hour after opening and they had a bunch of Yuma and Dragon Wars. They had one Sunshine, two Con Air, one The Rock, and no stores in northern New Jersey got Man on Fire.

Saw plenty of copies today of 310 and sunshine at walmart (24.96 and 29.96 respectively).

There was only one copy of Sunshine on the shelf at my BB when I picked it up Sunday, but I thought maybe it was because someone accidentally put it out early.

My Wal-Mart had 2 copies of Yuma, none of either The Rock or Con Air and 9 copies of Sunshine, which I thought was strange.

They said they would be getting The Rock and Con Air in a few days.

Thanks for all the info. Not sure why BB is only getting 1 copy of Sunshine in per store (if that).

Seems stupid. Wonder if they have control over that?

I cant get to CC until after work today, I sure hope they have Sunshine. I am planning on a blind-buy after all the good things I've heard/ read.

I just went to Best Buy in Springfield, NJ at 12:20 and they are sold out of Sunshine as of that time.

They had about 10-15 copies of 3:10 To Yuma left. Only 2 copies of Dragon Wars. They were sold out of Shoot Em Up and Sunshine.

I wanted to use my $35 in reward points and the Save $20 on 3 blu rays coupon.

I ended up buying
3:10 To Yuma
Simpsons
War

Note: There was another guy looking for sunshine and he was talking to a Best Buy employee who seemed to be a Red Ant and was commenting on how now we are going to suffer the fate of having to buy $500 players.... I was going o interject but the blu-ray guy didn't seemed fazed and had the $20 coupon plus 2 movies in his hand... He picked up Dragon Wars instead as his third.

I bought Sunshine from Wal-mart on 1/4/08. They had a few copies available then. I'm going to get the others in a few minutes, so I can't comment on those.

My Wal-Mart had the spaces for all the new releases, but only had copies of Sunshine, which they had about 10 of them.

I just got back from a Walmart in a small town in the middle of Alabama. They had four or five copies of Sunshine and two copies of Yuma. Now they have three or four copies of Sunshine and one copy of Yuma.

they probably sold them already as they it sounds like they are breaking street dates regurally
