High school can be tough for many teenagers, but for Carrie White (Chloë Grace Moretz), it's especially hellish. Kinda hard to figure out why SF would put this out before these 4K upgrades: SLEEPAWAY CAMP... SILENT NIGHT DEADLY NIGHT ...RABID... CLASS OF 1984.... MANHUNTER.

My Arrow Carrie 1976 UK 4k preorder is still warm, after all...

Now that you mention it, though, man oh man would I kill for a 4k uhd of Rabid (1977). Hopefully 2024 will be the year for all the early top-shelf Cronenberg body horrors to finally land on uhd (Shivers, Rabid, Scanners, The Brood, etc.) Way overdue.

Watched this not incredibly long ago and thought it was surprisingly decent until the end action, which looked super goofy to me. The actress's hand motions especially. Not an upgrade for me personally.

Cause it was given to them cheap from an already existing master? Plus they have all of the other Carrie movies under the Scream! label.

Because releasing this has no bearing on any of those, they'll come out when they're ready and that's if they're going to happen. This stuff gets lined-up for release in the background without us knowing, y'know.

I've always liked this one, I assume it'll come with both cuts of the film?

Would also love to see Kimberly Peirce's original vision of the film or any extra deleted scenes be included!

That's the only reason I'd double-dip, because the released version is a wan shadow of De Palma's masterpiece.

Glad I waited on picking up the MGM edition. I guess this completes Shout’s Carrie collection since they’ve released the 1976 original along with the 1999 sequel and 2002 TV version. Hopefully this has some sort of director’s cut since Sony and MGM heavily meddled with it.

This film can’t hold a candle to DePalma’s original, and it’s highly derivative of it, but it’s not an outright failure, more just mediocre. It does have a cable TV vibe, even though it was in theaters. I’d love to see a director’s cut. The fact that this is a collector’s edition gives me hope.

I doubt the actual presentation will be much of an upgrade though. This was a cheaply photographed 2K digital shoot from 11 years ago.

I actually like this one, though I'm content with the Blu-ray unless we get a director's cut (which is probably unlikely).

Buddy, I own 'Agent 47' on this format because it's so god damn great (the format not the film) so I'll buy anything on this format at this point.
