I have seen both of these films, and I have to say I must be missing something, but to me, these films are humorous, but no laugh out loud funny. Don’t get me wrong – I’m not trying to sound snooty here, I usually love British humor, like Monty Python, Benny Hill & the like. I rented these films sure I would love them, but in the end, it was only a luke-warm reaction. Maybe I should give them a second chance?

Nobody's forcing you to like 'em. You don't have to feel guilty for not joining the herd.

DS Andy Wainwright: You do know there are more guns in the country than there are in the city.
DS Andy Cartwright: Everyone and their mums is packin' round here!
Nicholas Angel: Like who?
DS Andy Wainwright: Farmers.
Nicholas Angel: Who else?
DS Andy Cartwright: Farmers' mums.

It’s not that – I want to like them more than I did. I remember the first time I watched The Matrix – didn’t care for it at all. But there was something about it that made me want to rent it again, and after seeing it the second time, I went right out & bought it.

I think sometimes I go into a film with too many expectations – like with Blair Witch Project. I really wanted to be scared, but came away annoyed. Often times, after a second viewing (or the 2nd or 3rd time hearing a song) something about the experience is different, and I get something out of it I hadn’t before, like it kind of “grows on me”.
On the other hand, there are films & songs I know straight out that I either love or hate.

I'm dying to get Shaun of the Dead. Never picked it up on DVD for some reason. But would buy it asap on Blu. As far as Hot Fuzz is concerned, while I certainly enjoyed it I'll probably wait till I can get for $14 or below...whenever it comes out.

Never really liked Shaun but I can't wait for Hot Fuzz...

Danny:"Where's Lurch?"
Nicholas:"He's in the freezer."
Danny:"Did you say 'cool off'?"
Nichaols:"No I didnt' say anything actually."
Danny:"Shame."
Nicholas:"There was a bit on earlier you missed where I distracted him with the cuddly monkey then i said "playtimes over" and then I hit him with the peace lily."
Danny:"You're off the f**kin' chain!"

I wonder if they're waiting to release them with Simon Pegg's new movie?

I've only seen Hot Fuzz and absolutely loved it. Gotta get around to watching Shaun Of The Dead.
