I'm not sure why I feel compelled to correct a trivial detail, but PS1/2/3 don't use RS-232 connectors as their output. It's a proprietary design that doesn't even look like RS-232.

The rest of the article is so clearly stupid that nobody should even need bother correcting it.

Almost funny...

looks like a site trying to drum up some business to sell worthless ads on their front page hawking a $500 fud dud player...

The unfortunate thing is that some poor J6P will buy into it thinking the admin over there is some guru, when he is most likely just another red dot spreading worthless fud.

Front page dud player $499, and right next to that an HDMI Cable for $49.99, that wait guess what their cable supports both dud and blu-ray... What a a joke.... It's nothing but an ad site....

move along, nothing to see here, don't even give them the benefit of a click....

Clinging on desperately to a dying hope, that's all this is. And the whole 500,000,000 to switch thing, I am sure he is just saying that because he wants to think that all studios are up for sell like paramount was, seeing as like he said, microsoft could afford to make numerous of these payoffs. But if every studio is up for sell like that, then I guess people like us, the consumers, have no say in the matter. Because the majority has clearly picked Blu-ray. But as far as the whole 500 million goes, warner was saying months ago that they were going to definitely pick a side, and what would determine that was holiday sales. I may be wrong but I definitely remember that being reported by this site way before the announcement on the actual switch was made. And we all know that Blu-ray had the majority of the holiday sales. So I don't know where this whole payoff theory came from. I think I also read that warner has denied receiving a payoff. HD-DVD supporters, please just give up. It has been a long battle and the winner has clearly been chosen, please just let it go and let us all move onto a one format HD market, which is the only way it will work, is if there is one format. The longer that two formats exist, the more it is going to hurt the hd market.

All these articles that posit various machinations past and possibly occurring in the future (payoffs, FOX nearly jumping to HD-DVD, X-Box HD-DVD, etc.) are missing a crucial point:

THE STUDIOS WANT THIS FORMAT WAR TO END ...NOW!!!

That's what Warner clearly cited as their reason for abandoning HD-DVD.

No Blu-ray-exclusive studio is going to jump back to neutral or abandon Blu-ray. Why the heck would they, after the Warner's announcement, and considering that Blu-ray discs outsell HD-DVD by more than 2-1 worldwide. The studios all want to get everyone in the industry (studios, CE manufacturers, retailers, etc.) to get on the same page and market HD players and discs to consumers worldwide.

The Warner's announcement has created unstoppable momentum. The major HD-DVD players are just trying to unwind their positions with the least possible damage to their balance sheets and their reputations.

Boy! The very idea of shameless $500,000,000.00 bribes to studios for HD DVD exclusivity is astonishing. Microsoft easily can and should pay off studio support?

I have news for you idiots. I know its impossible for corporate sociopaths to understand that Not every soul is for sale to the devil in this HD Universe simply because you have the money to do so, but I think you need to realise this once and for all. And your hipocracy or intent there of in this regard is beyond the pale. All of your intimations of blu company this or blu studio that has been paid/bought, or might have bought off...

Please go out and find a real job and try to be a productive member of society for a change instead of spewing more lies and deceit to the unsuspecting public.

I've been subscribed to their newsletter for a while now and have watched as the articles became more and more obviously slanted. But this one finally has me ready to hit the unsubscribe link. The last several that dealt with the HDM war have been nothing more than HD DVD propaganda and drivel. Bad enough to be slanted while pretending to be trying to be fair to both sides, but when you start regularly posting inaccuracies and falsehoods to shore up your own opinions and prejudices, you are of no use to me as an information source.

I saw they were going on about $ 99 HD DVD players. What will these consumers watch, a steady diet of Top Gun and Tranformers for the next ten years? Didn't DVD players just hit $ 99, just a couple of years ago
