Great news, my favorite Jim Thompson novel (as A HELL OF A WOMAN). I've been wanting this to be released on home video in the US for decades.

Série Noire is high on my list of favorite films (and it's by far the best Jim Thompson adaptation imo)... and features one of the most brilliant, unique performances ever from Patrick Dewaere.

I was afraid this might have been delayed as most sites had it "out of stock" for awhile, but I got it yesterday and watched it. So glad to finally have this on disc. The transfer is excellent and this is easily the best cinematic adaptation of a Jim Thompson novel.

Damn, this film is absolutely awesome. Probably one of the best films I've seen in the past couple of years. Dewaere's performance in this is off-the-charts brilliant, probably one of my 10 favorite performances I've ever seen. I cannot recommend this film enough.

Can someone tell me if the subtitles are forced or not ?
French version is something like impossible to find and I probably will buy spanish or US version and would like to know.
