Default Question on Blu_Ray loading times

Hello~ I just bought a Sony Blu-Ray player (could not pass up the 10 free movies) I noticed that on some movies that I have (Superbad & Ratatouille) their are two loading screens. It's very annoying. Why does this happen? I see that The Simpsons movie starts right away. Thanks!

Your firmware up-dates will help speed this up. Some movies just take a little time. In perspective, picture yourself in the future down loading a movie for 5 hours. Not so bad...

Could be worse. You could have bought a Sammy. It's nice to see all of the new members here lately. After the Warner announcement, its been fun to have some new blu blood here! Welcome to the site and enjoy!!!

They are quite slow on standalone compared to DVD players. Much of the slowness is attributed to the java code load and execution. The differences you are seeing have to do with the studio's preferences in terms of menu systems, previews, and copy protection.

I've read from Kjack's insider thread that BD Java optimizatoin is still going on. Hopefully load times and java operations will improve on existing players.

Sony's the worst in load times. The Samsung 1400 isn't bad with latest FW update.

I have a BDP-S1 and it loads pretty damn quick now with all the updated firmware.
