I really don't understand Sony lately:

1)licensing big titles to Twilight Time (Philadelphia, Sleepless In Seattle & cult classic's like Fright Night, The Blob, Christine & Vampires)

2)Odd "Pop Art" for the US Steelbooks, and original "Classy" artwork for the rest of the world.

3) BD-R's for the US and pressed discs for the rest of the world.

4)Announcing titles, then cancelling them, then releasing them as BD-R's.

Its like they love pooping on the American BD consumers & collectors!

Well, it is a Best Buy exclusive disc so Best Buy more than likely paid for some of the disc production costs. Now if Best Buy can't move the stock they have, it will probably end up in a closeout store like Big Lots or even Dollar Tree.

Here's the trailer. I find it odd that BB is releasing a Russian film but I'll take it... I thought I'd be downloading this off a torrent site with bad subs a few years from now.

About The Duelist

An adventure film, with dramatic and thriller elements set against the backdrop of palaces and the noble view of the Russian capital, The Duelist centers on Yakovlev, a retired officer, who returns to St. Petersburg from a long exile. While in the city, he fights as a duelist's representative. (Nineteenth-century Russian duel law allowed for a duelist to be replaced by any one person.) Though Yakovlev fights for money, he also seeks honor and revenge against those who disgraced him, therein, challenging the Russian Providence. Yakovlev fearlessly plays with destiny as an example of traditional romantic characters from the Russian Classics.

It's a Sony presentation of an IMAX film, so the Blu-ray should look outstanding. The trailer looks pretty slick.
