Default PS3 Upscaler Problems - Fog & Dark Scenes

Hi There,

Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but this has started to really annoy me alot. I have a Samsung DLP 56" HL-R5662W. On certain movies, during dark sequences or fog sequences I notice a sort of mosaic/pixelation form around the lighted areas. It looks aweful. This problem never occured using my Pioneer player using the same DVD's. Wondering if anyone knows if its the TV or the PS3 settings that is causing this. Some detail of black is also lost off Blu-ray discs as well. Such as Harry Potter 4. In the underwater sequences you can see alot of this mosaic effect.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

On the Samsung, I have setup it on Cinema mode with DNIE enabled.

On the PS3, I have it set to 1080i (Since 720p looked really bad), with:

DVD Upscaler - Normal
BD/DVD Video Output format (HDMI) - Y Pb / Cb Pr / Cr
BD 1080p 24hz Output (HDMI) - Automatic
Cross Colour Reduction Filter - Off
RGB Full Range (HDMI) - Full
Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr Super-White (HDMI) - On

Also set:

Frame Noise Reduction to 3
Block Noise Reduction to 3

Now the Block Noise sounds like the problems as it set to reduce mosaic-like block noise displayed on the screen. But increasing really has done very little.

Any advise?
