It ain’t all sunshine & rainbows, this hi-def business. What are some scenes or shots that the enhanced clarity of UHD has exposed in terms of wirework, dummies, masks etc? You can include regular BDs too, if the move from DVD to BD exposed something. The BDs of Judgement Day & Robocop have this problem.
-You can clearly see on both the BD & UHD of Judgement Day that when, “Arnold” makes the jump along the overpass on the motorbike that it’s a mask of his face being worn by a stunt rider. -In Arrow’s 4K scan of Robocop, you can’t miss the wiring that the ED-209’s missile is attached to during the attempted arrest of Dick Jones. -The new UHD of Total Recall shows very noticeably the concrete wall trembling when Arnold throws some guys into it at one point. -Romancing the Stone’s BD highlights the ‘give’ in a solid rock surface when Jack Colton swings into it on a vine above a ravine. |
