Default So now that the war is over...

I wonder what the chances that can get the previously released Blus to be released with the correct video/audio and not this HD DUD compression!

I can't imagine this happening anytime soon. However, let's hope that future releases will have better audio and video encoding.

Not good.

The companies will be rushing to make up lost ground. They will almost certainly be "slap-togethers" from the HD-DVD versions.

You can't really say that it is over, it is close to an end. Let's just hope that it doesn't drag on for too long! I wouldn't mind Batman Begins, Matrix and V for Vendetta

I hope so, but I doubt it. I think that 2 things would have to happen first:

1) The studio will have to go Blu exclusive.

2) The studio will have to exhaust it's list of titles previously released only on HD-DVD. Meaning if it was released on HD-DVD first, Blu gets the port over.

With Warner, step one has been accomplished. Now we need to wait for them to push out all the old HD-DVD titles onto Blu.

With special rare occasions, I can't see the studios releasing previous HD-DVD titles with revved up Blu-inspired transfers. I don't believe they'll spend the money to re-invent the wheel.

Although I do hold a little hope for Warner. Maybe they'll suprise us with a Matrix release that is worthy of Blu-Ray.

But I don't expect as much from Paramount or Universal. I fear that only after the HD-DVD titles have been released on Blu will we see true Blu titles released. They have much more to lose. Uni has never made a Blu-ray and Paramount only made a handfull. The cost of switching over may be to high to warrant Blu releases without port-overs.

It's not just HD-DVD exclusives that I'm waiting to go Blu... it's also movies like 300 and Harry Potter, that while released in Blu, are not at their full potential of Blu-ness... because they are ported over from HD-DVD. And while I really wish that Warner go back and re-do these titles, I can live with them for now and instead have Warner concentrate on giving us perfect Blu versions of their un-released titles.

That is what I ment, looking at say POTC vs. Potter there is a huge difference, at that I can see. I would hope foe a "remastered" copy.
