Default Whats the likelyhood of Fox realeasing World Series boxsets on Blu

Seeings How I bought the 04 RedSox DVD boxset , I thought it was only logical when the Sox did it again in '07, that Fox would have a Blu box set realeased. Although with the mighty storage capacity of BD they could prolly fit all the playoff games on 3-4 discs instead of the 12 or so DVDs on the 04 one I bought. Either way I would definatly buy it if they do. Any info is appreciated.

I'm from the UK so this might be a silly question but why is it called the world series when only America takes part??

Probably because , talent wise MLB is/has the best/most talented players in the world, therefore : world series. Japanese leagues are'nt too far behind, but they're not at MLB's talent level. That and the whole American arrogance thing.

Why do you think Fox would do the releasing? MLB owns all the rights to their games. They usually let publishing companies bid out for distribution rights. The set you own was produced by A&E Home video. I know this becuase I am a Sox fan as well and have the same collectors edition.

I guess it would all be up to MLB if they wanted HD to be part of the publishing rights.

Its called the World Series because there used to be two leagues. the NL and the AA. They would compete at the end of their respective seasons for a World's Series. Many baseball historians speculate that they just kept the name and threw out the apostrophe. There is no official naming so many believe it was done by members of the press. Baseball was the only nationwide sport at the time and so it garnered all the attention. This happedned in the late 1800s and nothing was really documented with the exception of the newspaper runs.

I'd love to see it. My beloved White Sox have only been there once in recent memory. Can't remember what happened, though.
