Robert Hoffmann (A Black Veil for Lisa), Nieves Navarro aka Susan Scott (The Big Gundown), and George Martín (A Pistol for Ringo) star in Death Carries a Cane, a stylish giallo mystery from director Maurizio Pradeaux (Churchill’s Leopards).

Tourist Kitty (Navarro) stumbles upon a murder whilst looking through coin-operated binoculars. When witnesses start being gruesomely bumped off, Kitty teams up with boyfriend Alberto (Hoffmann) to try and find the black-clad killer... if he doesn’t find her first!

With supporting performances from Rosita Torosh (The Bird with the Crystal Plumage) and Simón Andreu (The Blood Spattered Bride), Death Carries a Cane is a bloody and shocking classic of Italian genre cinema

It's included in the Forgotten Gialli volume 6 set, which I own. I still plan on buying this one though. I seem to recall the Vinegar version having a lot of scratches and print damage. Here's hoping Indicator fixed that.

Yeah, I watched it yesterday and was negatively surprised by the overall quality of the presentation. Clearly not up to VSs usual standards. Plus, about halfway through there was one scene with multiple instances of quite severe damage. It's very light on extras too.

Pleased to hear this is going to be a substantial upgrade. Also, since you are doing one Pradeaux film, hopefully you'll consider Death Steps in the Dark as a natural follow-up as well! Some gialli-related wishes I just posted in the VS thread:

However, it's Tessari's Uomo senza memoria that's the one giallo that screams for a quality upgrade. Loses points for being too similar to Duvivier's Diabolically yours, but a top tier entry for me. The VCI release was a joke. Kinda hope Indicator or Celluloid Dreams will get round to them[...]

Speaking of films involving memory loss, I wonder what's keeping anyone from releasing Sollima's superior Devil in the brain on disc.
