Default Diamond Comics

Diamond Comics has filed for Chapter 11.

They have already received a commitment from Universal Distribution to purchase Alliance Game Distributors coupled with a signed Letter of Intent to purchase Diamond UK, and we remain committed to pursuing offers for all Diamond lines of business.

Diamond will likely be no more by April 1st.
They have applied for layoffs.

A lot of uncertainty about all of this still.
I'm in the UK, and get a small press Bi-monthly horror title called Shudder (previously known as The Creeps). Diamond UK have been terrible regarding it, and have on numeorus occasions not bothered to send it to my comic shop despite it being ordered from them. Sometimes he has been able get mssing issues on back order, but there's others Ive never been able to get. All because Diamond UK are crap. I hope that Shudder is still being made available here when all this settles, and that whoever takes over is more competent.
Diamond UK also used to send loads of damaged comics due to how badly they were handled in thier warehouse.

Diamond recently announced a reissue of their three Tron figures. I was interested in one of them, but expect that all of this is cancelled now.

It is really hard to tell what they are going to do. They are still doing solicitations into June. I am now waiting on orders for January.

Not that I want people to lose jobs. Still, I don't know anybody who actually liked Diamond and their stranglehold over their niche.

Two contenders.

1. Universal, they are a Canadian distro that have two years ago at ComicsPro, said there were coming stateside.

2. UCS, Midtown comics getting back into the Distro Gang.

I have a lot of stories dealing with them as a publisher. Their into system is old and slow. Changes they should have made 15 years ago probably would have saved them or keep them going longer.

Diamond is now looking to collect funds they think they are due from comic shops. Shops are saying that they do not owe any money to them. Could be a possible accounting error.

Once this all closes down, I will be sharing the process of submitting to Diamond, then the process of listing and payouts.

I need some transparent figure stands for my DST Ghostbusters figures. They never made them available here in the UK. Other ones of compatible peg size, such as the Neca stands, are too big for me to use to fit the figures on the Gozer Temple diorama. It's immediately frustrating, and I guess the stands will be discontinued altogether now.

Last I heard Universal was interested in that part of the company. They are a out of Canada.

The Alliance News came out because they beat out the auction and made their bid upfront.

This does present a possible problem though. We do have partnerships outside of the US. With shipping costs where they are we, still might have to use multiple distro points. This present a logistical issue with invoices coming from multiple sources instead of just one.

What is Diamond's motivation for that if Alliance won the bid? Is there something dodgy going on behind the scenes that they benefit from if Universal buys them?

In uK news, I'm still none the wiser as to what's going on here, but last month's Vampires Carmilla never arrived, and I'm expecting we won't get Shudder this month either. Comic shop doesn't know what's happening, other than being told they might be getting it at a later date. :/

The word is that Alliance may not want anything to do with comics. Which then questions why they would want to buy Diamond, and what they overspent for it. I have not seen anything on Diamond UK which is a bit strange.
