Will not be buying this as a blind buy. But interesting nevertheless. Thanks Chris!

Maybe someone could translate those 5 lines and then we'd have them as an insert in the BD cover as reference while we watch

Any idea of the framerate Chris? 24, 30, 60

The couple of lines are basically "hello" and "goodbye." Honestly, subtitles will not change the enjoyment of this at all. It's essentially a silent movie in regards to dialogue.

As for framerate, no clue; since the Panny and the Samsung don't display that info, I've got no way of telling (no PC based player yet either, waiting for a new Dell system next year).

Well to find video frame rates I use this easy "trick" (I use it mostly to determine frame rates on music videos to decide which version (PAL or NTSC DVD) I should buy to get the original transfer instead of a standards converted one) when I can't easily tell by looking at it: I put the player in still and I still/step checking for repeats. If it has a 3:2 pattern it's 24fps edited into 60i video, if it has 4:5 repeats, it's 25fps into 60i (or sometimes 30p), if there's no repeats it's usually 24fps, 25fps, or 30fps, and I just count the frames while keeping an eye on the seconds counter (I've even found for instance some Joan Jett videos shot at 20fps with 3 frame repeats using this technique!) (I assume they saved film in the shoot or it made video editing easier!). If it's shot at 60i or 50i that's usually easy to tell cus it has this "live" look on it. Works great for OVAs too!
