They could make a two pack with Weird science. Two great 80's movies.

I just watched this last night and still holds up. It could use a BD release for sure. Its 2014 and still no news on a release as of yet. Who owns the rights for this movie? At this point I'd take a release by Twilight Time

Agreed...

This is one film that has stood the test of time. As much as it pains me to say it, I would be more than happy to get "Titus'd" again to own this on Blu-ray.

Mill Creek had the dvd that I got it last year but it was a 2 movie release with Just Visiting. So I think it will come out by them.

This was one of the more memorable movies I grew up watching all the time on cable.
I'd love to see it on blu-ray.
I'm certainly not expecting anything more than a barebones release.
Just as long as the audio is optimized as best they can and they don't crop the image from 2:35 to 1:85.

This is a classic and wonderful film that does deserve a proper blu-ray transfer!! Mill Creek owns the rights still to it and I emailed them asking about a proper blu-ray release, so let's hope they actually respond back to see. I mean it is generally a well received movie from what I see other people reviewing it, so I believe they would make their money from it, although speaking of quality if they "did" do an actual blu-ray transfer and restoration of it. Some people say the DVD released in 2004 was crap and just a barebones feature stripped straight from the VHS film it looked like. I own just the VHS version of this film and I've had it since I was little, but yeah it's time in 2014 to get a blu-ray release of this!!

Got a reply back from Mill Creek today about "My Science Project" here is what she said.

Quote:
Good Morning,

Thank you for your interest in Mill Creek Entertainment and its line of products. We appreciate it when customers take the time to contact us with their comments, questions and suggestions. There are plans for additional Blu-ray releases during 2014 and into 2015 that would contain single films and double features. While we do not have My Science Project currently on the list of titles under consideration, your comments will be forwarded to the appropriate parties for further review. Details are currently being worked out for these releases and, when they have been finalized, they will be posted upon our website at the appropriate time. We would encourage you to visit our website on a regular basis to view these new title announcements and other product information. We hope this information is helpful and please feel free to contact us with any additional comments or questions.

Sincerely,

Lyle Goff
Project Manager
Mill Creek Entertainment
So, no such luck it seems this year or even possibly the next that they will release this film on blu-ray. Although her graciously passing this along to whoever reviews what films to release on blu-ray is certainly hopeful news and they could change their mind as well. Here's hoping for the best!!

That's the one I have. Only $3 at Wal-Mart. I couldn't tell you how many times I watched this movie when I was younger.

Fisher Stevens is awesome as Vince.
