Best way to import from UK to US?

So, the BBC's series Robin Hood, which I really loved for its cheeky humor and fine acting, is out on region-free Blu-ray in the UK.

There's just one problem: the BBC says they cannot ship it to the US.

I ordered this online and from BBC.co.uk, and my order was canceled. When I asked my sales rep why, he said, "Because US customers should be ordering from BBC America."

I explained to Brian that BBC America's site doesn't have this for sale on Blu-ray yet, and he again apologized but said there's nothing they can do; their agreement with BBC America prevents them from shipping to the US for purchases made on the UK site.

Soooooo... any suggestions here? I noticed Amazon.co.uk has it, but it's considerably more expensive than BBC's price, once you factor in the extra cost in euros, the fact that BBC had free shipping, etc. Are there any other sources I should be looking at?

I have a friend who moved from Nashville to London that offered to get it for me, but if is there a better way?
