GH1 & GH2 with 60GB PS3 - Blu-ray Forum

OK, so I got GH1 and GH2 for PS2 for xmas but I have a PS3. The games work but the GH3 controller does not. Where can I buy just a controller to run these games. I realize there is a glitch with the whammy bar but would love to play this back catalogue on my PS3. Thanks!

Would also be nice if there was an aftermarket guitar out there that would work with Rock band and these GH games. I really don't need to have 4 guitar controllers in my living room but I guess a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.

This is a major problem with the RB/GH series right now.

Some people suggest the Pelican PS-to-USB adapter for playing GH1/2 on the PS3 using RedOctane's original (SG-model) PS2 controller. Some people report it doesn't work at all. If it does work, don't expect full functionality. I understand the whammy bar doesn't work and the strum bar up/down is reversed. The tilt sensor will not work either (it might work on GH1 from what I hear - unconfirmed).

In short, GH1/2 are not compatible with the PS3. Yes, the games WILL run, but there is no full workaround for controller problems at this time. I would suggest you stick to playing GH1/2 on a PS2.

Sucks, but this is the state of things. I wouldn't get my hopes up for Activision to do anything about it either.

The aftermarket controllers are currently made by ezgear and Nyko. Neither will support GH1/2 on the PS3, despite what you may read (confirmed by the companies themselves). The 2nd set of buttons on the ezgear one suggests it might work with rock band, but I am not sure on this.

As for Rock Band, there was supposed to be a patch released but its tied up in legal stuff - if/when this is resolved the PS3 guitars should work interchangeably between the two games.
