GH1 & GH2 work on PS3??? - Blu-ray Forum

Is it possible to play either of these games with the GH3 guitar or even a GH1/GH2 guitar via USB?

I have not been able to test it out, but last I heard, you cannot use the GH3 guitar with GH1/GH2 on the PS3. What you would have to do is get a PS2 to USB adaptor and use the old guitars for the older games. You can find these online or in stores like Radio Shack for around $9.99. The downside is not all the featues may work. Like stumming may be off, or you may not be able to use star power.

I'd recommend selling your PS2 guitar hero games and accessories (I did and got $170 on ebay), and pick up Rock band (for its song selection) or the Aerosmith guitar hero game coming out.

sure that would be an awesome game but for a one like that you would need to e a fan of Aerosmith to really enjoy it but at least you get to play it as like a career sort of thing

i believe that only works if you have a wireless guitar im not 100% certain

You'll need a PS2-to-PS3 adapter.

GH1 works fully. With some adapters the Star Power sensors won't work, but you can use the Select button instead. Hammer-ons and pull-offs won't work at all but from my GH1 experience you're better off not actually using the flawed GH1 HoPo system.

GH2 is a bit tougher, it's the same as the original, really, but the biggest problem is the reworked HoPo system; it doesn't work at all. And there's no way to fix it.

True, that's why I recommend Rockband. After I got that I almost never touched Guitar Hero 3.
