My ps3 just stopped reading my games!!!!! help - Blu-ray Forum

Hi guys
Ok heres my problem i baught my 80g in japan about 2 months ago and it was working fine until last week where it froze whilst i was playing but i dident think anything of it so i turned it off.
The next day i go to turn it on and it refusses to read any of my games, cds, dvd, or anything the little circle comes up on the right hand side corner but after that nothing happens .
Can you please help pleaseme

I didn't think they ever sold the 80GB in Japan.

Yep i found mine on ebay and i arrived at my home within 2 days from hong kong....
Should i have to pay for the shipping or should they and do i need to ship it to sony or the guy i bought it off???????

You might have an 80gb PS3, but it sure ain't a Japanese one. They only sell the 20, 40, and 60 here, with the 20 and 60 on the way out soon.

there are definitely no 80go model in japan!

I think it is (has been?) exclusively for Korea

Were are you located bigpoppa? You might be SOL, also see if the SKU matches US 80GB version you might be able to get it worked on here if your in the US.

It's either the HK or SG. Look at the DVD region. It should be Region 3. Japan's DVD region is 2.

Im acctually based in the south of france in europe so its definately not the same region code and yes is did buy it from japan it came from sony hong kong.
