can't said I am not... she is amazing (but I love her more in Casino Royal.)

I do like this movie a lot (love letter to film,) with or without those scenes. What I concern is if this disc use optical censor, which I hate.

As much as I adore this film, the only challenge I foresee with this release is that for any scenes that are not in English requiring the subtitles to be on at all times as opposed to the US DVD which only turns the subs on when the characters are speaking French.

I thought that was a Japanese form of censorship not South Korea.

Does anyone know if there are English subtitles on the parts of the film that are in French or if you have the turn them on for those scenes or for the whole film?

has anyone taken a look at this? Mostly wondering about the picture quality, I can speak French so I'm not worried about the small amount in the movie.

I have watched this blu ray on Tuesday. Although the picture quality was OK to good, I was satisfied by the picture and audio. I did not see any excessive DNR. I have not seen any of the special features. I will definitely revisit this film again next week.

I wonder how the PQ stands up against the German and Russian editions.

Hi GoldMotel, I do not have the previous German or Russian editions. I believe the Russian edition is the cut version with 4 to 5 mins shorter than the uncut (this is an assumption, not a fact). The German edition is listed as not containing the English subtitles (I was going to pick up this edition, but my French is not up to par as in the past).

I used the site below to make my decision, they listed the bit rate and some blu ray stats.

I hope this helps. I love this movie, not only because I am a big film buff, but also Bertolucci is top-notch directing this film. In my opinion, Eva Green's best movie.

I received my copy as well yesterday and watch first half of the movie... it does have English sub for the French dialog, when I chosen English sub.

Anyone have any comments on this release? I was wondering how the picture quality held up and if when you watch the movie without subs if the parts in French show up having English subtitles or would you have to watch the whole movie with English subs turned in to get them in the French parts. Thanks!

Thanks, so the french dialogue parts will only have english subtitles if you turn them on?

Yes, if you chosen English sub., then only English for the french dialogue.

If chose Korean, then only Korean sub. Or you can turn off sub then no sub at all.

Yes, that is correct. There are no subtitles for the French parts, if the subtitles are off.

Edit: I did not realize that the answer was given. I guess I can confirm tsetse27 statement

Thanks, I'll probably pick up this version. Mostly because the box/cover art is awesome.

I totally agree, cover art (inside and outside) and coverslip look great showing off some of the most memorable scenes.

I do not know what to do with the postcards, I just keep them inside the case.
