Default James Cameron Film Discussion Thread

James Cameron has always been one of my favorite directors, and besides his latest movie "Avatar" coming out in about a year, I thought it would be interesting to see who else is a big fan of his movies and get a discussion going about which ones are your favorites and why.

Please keep in mind this is not a thread for discussing why T2 has not been rereleased on Bluray with all the special features and a better transfer. I created this thread in the movies section for the purpose of discussing his movies

I am a big fan. I would buy most of his movies on BLU.

The Abyss in my opinion is his most overlooked gem. It is brilliant in my opinion. The extended edition is superb. I still watch it every 3 or so months to remind me how good a film it is.

Cameron is the best film maker of all time in my opinion.

Love T1, T2, Aliens, True Lies, Abyss, and titanic. He is amazing as a filmmaker, as a person I hear otherwise.

Aliens is definitely my favorite. Nice blend of action, sci-fi and horror plus some of my favorite one-liners come from that movie.

very true, if you watch some of the aliens behind the scenes stuff it shows how demanding of a director he is. he doesn't tolerate anyone on his set performing anything but 110% and gets pissed off very easily.

im curious to see how many people could not stand titanic despite it unquestionably being a box office smash. i thought the acting was good and the special effects amazing, but any movie where some kind of tragedy is utilized (even indirectly as a backdrop for the main story) for the purpose of hollywood gaining profit just bothers me.

My personal rankings:
1) True Lies
2) The Terminator
3) Aliens
4) Terminator 2: Judgment Day
5) Titanic

I love all of those movies, but I HATED The Abyss. It's probably one of the most pretentious films ever made. It's way too long and every bit of it was boring. The only good thing I can say about it was Michael Biehn. He's great in everything.

Had to give it up to T2. But Terminator, T2, Aliens and The Abyss are among the best sci fi films I've ever seen. Period.

Duh! He invented 'Bullet Time' and was blacklisted in Hollywood for making fun of William Randolph Hearst. Sheesh!

It's not like I'm stupid or somethin'!

I have been waiting for Cameron to make another movie for years. I hope Avatar can live up to everyones expectations. I also enjoyed seeing him on Entourage. As for movies i think T2 is his masterpiece and i always forget how good this movie is. I would love for a better Blu Ray to come out. I do think all of his movies are great though and when is True Lies going to come out on Blu Ray.
