Default James Cameron Blockbusters

I am really surprised that all of James Cameron's blockbuster movies haven't come out on Blu-ray yet. So far, Rambo 2, Terminator 1 and Terminator 2 are the only ones (that I know of) and they are poorly mastered (Rambo 2 looks pretty good, but not the Terminators). Why is The Abyss or Titanec not out on BD yet? I don't know what else he made but I'm sure there are plenty of other ones (didn't James Cameron produce True Lies and Alien 2?). Maybe he doesn't want his movies out on BD just like George Lucas and Steven Spillberg.

I don't think he cares right now because he's so fully immersed in Avatar. He's probably letting the studios do whatever they want with the movies.

James Cameron didn´t direct Rambo 2, He wrote the screenplay. And he did direct "True Lies" and "Aliens"

He also directed Pirahna 2:The Spawning. I had no idea it was him until I saw the credits. It was one of his first I believe.

JC doesn't care much about anything as far as I can tell. I mean what the hell has he actually done since Titanic? 1 episode of Dark Angel. And now he is making a new movie...

I mean Abyss never even got a decent DVD release. I'd settle for an anamorphic DVD release at this stage. A Blu Ray would be utterly awesome, but I keep getting the feeling that cameron doesn't care much about anything anymore.

What make JC different from many directors and sadly, pretty much all director is that he try to revolutionize the film industry. Bringing new ideas, new technology, new way of seeing thing. He have been busy doing 3D film, which is beyond hi-def. If one look at his upcoming movie on imdb, all on the list are very interesting and should open up to a whole new experience in movie theater. He once say, if you want people to see movie in the theater, give them something they cannot have access at home. Honestly, ever since blu-ray, I never feel like I have the need to go see a movie at the theater. I'm hoping JC will bring something new and refreshing to the movie theater experience.

A good example, look at all his movie, it all have influence on all today movie. T2 = CGI Effect True Lies = The Harrier, now, every try to have some cool airplane action. Just to name a few.

I don't expect any other movies from James Cameron to arrive on Blu-ray Disc until Avatar arrives in theaters or even after Avatar is released on Blu-ray and DVD.

And that might be just fine with me. I don't feel like paying 20th Century Fox $30 for grabbing an old, soft looking HD telecine transfer of True Lies or The Abyss and quickly throwing together an unremarkable BD release. That's a waste of money and a big invitation for the antsy ones to get stung by the good old double dip.

Ridley Scott delayed working on a new Bladerunner DVD for several years. On top of that there were legal issues to be solved with some of the materials. In taking the time to do the job right, the resulting 5-disc BD and 2-disc DVD editions were great.

I'm not expecting James Cameron to redefine a new standard of special editions or anything. But I am certain that if he has the time to devote getting movies like True Lies onto Blu-ray in a very good manner the end result will probably be worth the wait.

No. Predator was co-written by Jim Thomas and John Thomas. FYI, John McTiernan (Die Hard) directed it.

I'd like to see him direct and write Aquaman like he did in Entourage Season 2. That would be awesome.

I'd love to get Abyss in HD. The DVD is awful (not even anamorphic transfer). I really love this movie.
I'd like to get Aliens, too.

True Lies also has a terrible non-anamorphic DVD release. Yikes, why not even a remastered DVD, Fox? Ugh.
