Default Would you pay a few bucks more for steelbook casing?

I hate, hate the cheap plastic case with a passion.

Any solution to this? Is there anyway that I can order customed steelbook casing?

I'd definitely pay 4-5 bucks more, if studios release their movies in steelbook

I personally like the thinner plastic case since it takes up less space on the shelf.

I don't have issues with the newer style cases so probably a no to your question. It's a massive step up from those crappy cardboard ones for DVDs. I hope Blu never gets to the point where we see those.

I like my collection to look nice, and steel book casing is very cool. However, 4-5 dollars more per movie is way to much. Maybe on Blockbusters like Legend, National Treasure, ect.

Plastic is a good, logical solution for movie storage because it is light, flexible and relatively durable. I only want metal cases for special/limited edition movies.

of course!!! i would love to see all Blu-Ray movies in the first place with steelbook. It makes it more "high class and expensive" to own...unlike regular DVD movies you buy for $2.99 these days.

I agree. Snapper cases were the worst. I can honestly say that I've refrained from making DVD purchases before because it came in a snapper case.

I like the Blu cases though, so no, I wouldn't pay more for a steelbook

I love steel book cases. I would be all for it. Almost bought Robocop today even though I haven't opened my BD. Did the same with Live Free and Die Hard

Add me to the list of those who'd wholeheartedly support Blu-ray steelbooks.

Part of the joy of collecting is having the films look truly special on your shelf -- and rows upon rows of same old same old just get tiresome very quickly. I know it appeals to the OCDers among us, but I like some variety.

If Fox and MGM came out with steelbook versions of their upcoming titles (say, Amazon.com exclusives), I'd gladly shell out a few bucks more for them.

No. I don't see the point of it and I think it is a waste of money and material.

I thought it was stupid for the steel enclosure for T2 special edition on DVD and I think it is a stupid idea now for HDM.

I like the smaller blu cases but I would surely pay a few extra dollars for a special tin edition or something.

Nah, too much money would be added to the costs of the BDs, I am plenty happy with the current casings. Minus the annoying sticky stuff problems with extra stickers.

Default Speical Editions perhaps

I agree that maybe special edition releases that steel cases would be cool. But with a design that makes them look like they belong with the other cases. The creative artists for these companies could design such a case i'm sure. All in all i like the cases as is, I'm even considering getting rid of the slip cover from The Condemned. By the way that is one awesome movie to see on blu-ray

YES! We need more special editions for the great movie releases. I love the Close Encounters packaging, it's beautiful. Steelbooks would be ever cooler.

I'd definitely buy steelbook cases. I have a few DVD's with steelbook cases, Boondock Saints, The Departed, Death Proof and Planet Terror, and they look badass...especially The Departed.
