Has this film been reviewed yet? Just finished watching the Extended Cut. I would say its one of the most beautifully shot movies and stunning on BD. A must have for any hi-def fan.

Agreed. It has a fantastic PCM soundtrack and it's one of Heath Ledger's best movies, as well.

Yeah if felt strange watching him on that film particularly his death scene. Tragic really.

Very good movie, not quite as good as something like Braveheart, coming off of the high from that movie, but still very good. I haven't watched my BD version of it yet, it will be eerie seeing Heath Ledger's character die in light of the recent news.

I especially like this film because it takes place in South Carolina.

Was anyone else upset that it wasn't the theatrical version? I hate it when they do these unrated cuts because of the way the score repeats over and over again ruining the scene that it was originally intended for. Plus it seemed like the scenes they added were very out of place (except for like a few alt. shots).

I wasnt upset with it at all. I really did enjoy it and I look forward to purchasing it soon!

Glad to hear mostly positive things, my copy is coming tomorrow in the mail. And Not all of the extended cuts have the old score slapped on there, some (if the studio finds it worth it ?) will have new music made up or scrapped music reinstalled for the added scenes.

Like how they did LOTR which was amazing. But on this, they kept repeating the cue where Thomas dies. It really took away from the scene it was meant for. I think it actually ended up repeating 3 or 4 times in a 10 minute area. Very annoying. I think that's one of the reasons I didn't like the Director's Cut of Pearl Harbor as much. They kept repeating sections of the score in the hospital scenes.

Glad to hear all the positive things about this movie, purchased the blu-ray off Amazon right after i found out about Heath Ledger, tragic.

one of my favorit blu-ray! The movie itself + the PQ/AQ are 5/5 !!!
definetily worth to own!

the funny thing is, the first time ive seen the movie was on blu-ray, never managed it to watch this movie before!! i cant believe what a great movie i have missed all the years , but im kinda happy ive seen the movie first time in a perfect blu-ray quality

you would have been shocked watching this movie again if you'd seen the superbit or dvd version like I have ... this is one heck of a transfer.
