I wish they would change it to something by Pixar.

What do you all think of this movie? Origionaly I thought it was some stupid war movie. Forgot that it was a Disney adventure.

Went and watched the trailer.. I can't really decide if it's worth a purchase.

Nice, considering that Apolcalypto DVD have good review and it's a Macroblock Nightmere and MESS! (There's one scene, when they enter the city i tought i was watching a MPEG1 video) and the BluRay is SUPERB!

So i have high expectation on this one..

According to Highdefdigest it will be released in 10 days. This is going to be another great Blu-ray exclusive title.

As usual he deduct one star because he doesn't like the post processing/contrast/colors/the films look.
So it's a 5-star rating in reality.

I think he gave Chicken Little 4 stars as well and I thought it looked perfect. He has an issue when things seem to pop a bit too much.

This was a movie I passed on in the theatres, but I had no idea it got such great reviews (the movie itself). 84% in Rotton Tomatoes is nothing to scoff at. A great movie and a great transfer - sign me up for a blind buy!

I believe that the last we heard implied late summer/early fall with the delay attributed to Pixar helping with the release. I could see them adding some nice features as I can imagine walking into a room full of the kind of minds that work on these things for Pixar and saying, "We're going to release Cars on Blu-ray. Any extra goodies you guys can think of that you want to put on there?".

One more thing for fans of Pixar movies. There will sneak preview showings at over 800 theaters around the US for Ratatouille on Saturday the 16th. The regular opening is June 29th. I just got a ticket from fandango.com. In my area it won't be showing with DLP at the normal place I go to so I'll be seeing it on film and if it is good enough I'll probably go see it with a digital later. Should give a good idea of what it will look like on an eventual release in HD.

I suspect that it was also held back for various BD-Live capabilities. No skin off my nose if a better release is made for it. I've got enough to watch as is.

Default Extraordinary

The BD maintains the same fundamental fidelity of the film presentation of Terabithia I saw, but far surpasses it in dimension and refined clarity. Some spotty softness still remains in the photography, but overall, detail and image depth is extraordinary in this moderate to high bitrate AVC encoding. I was immensely satisfied, despite the films somewhat tainted look. In fact the BD surpassed my expectations. The lighting imparts the same blistered sun and washed shadows that I remember from the theatrical showing. Blacks are deep at night, but during the day, they tend to be elevated whether in the forest or in the house. Saturation isn’t especially affected, resolving the immense variety of greens and the deeper hues of a school bus richly and clearly defined. Though, on occasion, color balance made me wonder if some correction was applied during post.

The use of color and depth even in the opening credits was almost hypnotic. And the photographic design of the rest of the film was even more enchanting, beautifully shot in location, vantage, and framing. The BD lets you experience Michael Chapman’s farewell performance behind the camera in all its style and roaming majesty. Even the subtlest shift in focus from one part of the screen to another is appreciated under the revealing light of high def.

Weta Digital did the special effects. And this disc may give BD owners a glimpse at what we might expect from Lord of the Rings some day. There are a lot of similarities in the visual style. The effects lend themselves to the imaginative more than the real, suiting the story, but still purposeful and convincing"
