Default Wow, the Japanese cover for The Simpsons Movie is so much better than the US one

http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/av/do...201/20cfox.htm

I don't know why they went with such a plain cover for the US version. Not going to be picking up the Jp one just for the cover, though.

But it's nice to see that they will be including a Jp dub with the original Jp dub cast instead of just the theatrical dub (which used Jp movie stars instead of the original Jp dub cast from the TV series, this pissed off a lot of fans and people in the Jp entertainment industry). Too bad the dub track isn't lossless though.

You know, you could have at least posted the actual Image instead of making us go in to the site and waiting for the japanese stuff to load.

Kinda like this

I didn't do that because it's stealing bandwidth and considered bad netiquette.

I love that cover, but I also like the Invasion Cover.

4,935 yen MSRP is basically the same as $39.99, it all depends on the exchange rate. It would be slightly more right now, but earlier last year it would be less.

For someone who owns both HD DVD and Blu-ray and gets satellite TV, you sure do a lot of *****ing about prices.

It's more like $45, based on current exchange rate of 106~108 yen per dollar.

Cool cover!

Yeah, but it would be $38 at 130 yen to the dollar like it was for a while last year. Doesn't really matter anyways as people in Japan don't think of prices in terms of dollars, they think of them in yen. My salary didn't go down when the value of the dollar went in the toilet. Given that I make 3x what I made when I was working in the US, the price is more like the equivalent of $15 to me now

But the pricing is still higher and the trend hasn't changed a bit over the past 4-5 years.

Hardly. There have been plenty of popular DVDs released or repriced at 3000 or 2500 yen or less.
