Default Think The Jungle Book (1967) is gonna be released in 4K

Disney has just revealed that The Jungle Book (1967) is coming to popular multiplayer game, Fall Guys while it was recently leaked by the ESRB rating that The Jungle Book video game is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

And as many people bring up on these forums, The Jungle Book (1967) has long been out of print in North America on Blu-ray and DVD and is not available digitally.

Think it's safe to say The Jungle Book (1967) is coming to Ultra HD Blu-ray and Digital Ultra HD in 2022 for its 55th anniversary whilst being either re-released or reissued on Blu-ray and DVD in North America and getting released digitally in North America.

The Jungle Book 2 would also no doubt be reissued on Blu-ray and DVD and released digitally in North America as well. And they'd probably release a collection of The Jungle Book (1967) and The Jungle Book (2016) on Blu-ray.

They'll hopefully also finally add The Jungle Cubs series to Disney+.

Well, "The Jungle Book (1967)" may or may not be part of the Signature Collection, but we'll see, OK?

Speaking of which, anyone wanna sign this?

I don't get why you're still wanting the "Signature Collection" to still be a thing. They're a pretty medicore line of re-releases and are just marketing gimmicks.

Having a "Signature Collection" release after at least two years would be plain odd and pointless. It also really means nothing at the end of the day.

Please don’t complain. Besides, after all, the film is currently unavailable on Blu-ray/DVD/Digital you know.

In North America, and I'm sure it's not the only movie that's out of print there. You're the one doing a petition for some branding.

I personally would love The Jungle Book to be released on 4K!!! Along with Pinocchio, 101 Dalmatians, Emperor's New Groove, Bambi and Dumbo. Might as well release all of the Disney Classics on 4K!

Or how about all the feature films from WDAS.

Well, you know, I think the only WDAS films to be on 4K UHD is the Renaissance films...sometimes. Even those "Fantasia" films can be on 4K UHD whether or not.

Add Snow White, too. Didn't the blu-ray sell about 4 million copies?

Excuse me, but didn't I say that I think the only WDAS films to be on 4K UHD is the Renaissance films (as in from the late 80s-present)? No offense.

Say! Do you suppose the (possible) re-release of "The Jungle Book (1967)" could be in honor of (or should I say promote) the sequel to "The Jungle Book (2016)"?

If it gets a 4k release I hope they use the full 4:3 aspect ration and don't attempt to crop/conform to 16:9 as they did with the previous blu-ray.

From what I see of the promotional artwork, it seems like The Lion King is using the BD+DVD Signature Edition artwork, Aladdin is using the UHD+BD/BD+DVD artwork, and The Jungle Book is using the old Diamond Edition artwork.

That said, I hope this is a countermeasure so that this game collection doesn't somehow end up leaking the existence of a Signature Edition or even 4K UHD release of The Jungle Book through artwork. And I am still suspecting that Disney may end up releasing The Jungle Book as a Signature Edition, 4K or not, and this collection is a hint to it happening.

I also hope this 4K UHD release would have the original mono mix in lossless. I also hope they have a purist 3.0 (or even 2.0 mix) with the original stereo music stems but with mono dialogue and effects.
Dolby Atmos would probably be overkill for such an old film that was originally made in mono.

Snow White or Pinocchio would likely come out before Jungle Book, IMHO.
