I own the 4300ES and am thrilled with it. It's awesome and the 5 year warranty makes it worry free. You won't be disappointed. Shop around for you can definitely pick it up MUCH cheaper than the list price.

I just ordered my 4300 off of ebay for $769 plus $40 shipping basically $500 off of list. just look on there. I almost got screwed from a site that I found both the 2100 and the 4300 for cheaper but it was the imported version, so just be careful. The 4300 is a better receiver IMO

Default sony 4300es

Hi, new to the site and read your post. I have owned nothing but SONY for home theatre but I recently purchased a Panasonic Blu-Ray (BD30K) player. Only reason I did was that it was $100 cheaper than the SONY and it is profile 1.1, and it does send Dolby True HD and DTS HD via bitstream whereas the Sony S300 or S500 does not. I narrowed choices between Onkyo and Sony which both decode the new audio. What do you like about the 4300? I need to justify the extra $400. Thanks
