Default How long do you wait to rewatch a film after your first viewing?

Obviously, this is meant for films you buy or rent. When you watch a film for the first time, how long do you generally wait to watch it again. I finished Blade Runner not too long ago and I'd like to see it again. Do you guys have any "policies" with new films. Just curious?

No "policies" per se', but it is totally reliant on the film. Usually between 3-6 months on average. Unless it's a film that is "fun" to watch on a large theater screen ala Avatar or Iron Man.

Whenever I feel like it, that's when. Cause I mean if i wanna see a certain movie, i'm not gonna say i can't cause i watched it the other day.

Depends on how much I liked the movie. If it's something I was really into, I could rewatch it the next day.

Depends. Sometimes immediately, sometimes there's a large stretch. Sometimes once is enough...or too many.

Usually at least a year now that I buy blu-rays. There was a time I *never* rewatched films.

Matrix Reloaded I walked right back into the theatre for the next showing.

Twilight will never get watched again.

So, it depends on the film.

Same here. I'm also more likely to watch something more then once in a short period of time if the movie was a blind buy and I really liked it, instead of something I've seen before (DVD, etc).

If the film felt like it had a lot of potential or we really enjoyed then very soon - within 3-4 days. The second viewing for just about any film we end up liking is usually the best.

Depending on the film. The first time I saw Scott Pilgrim I watched 3 times in the first week but haven't watched it in a long time.

Quite often, if anything comes by i really enjoy. I'll happily rewatch it right away with friends if i think they'll like it.

With a lot of Kubrick films, i like re watching them fairly quickly. In most cases i always went in blind with little to no context about each film. But afterwards i'd watch all the documentaries and read everything i could, then go back in.

I'd say sometimes i go through a phase with a film too, where i'm almost obsessed with re watching it. I find it's happened a lot with Danny Boyle and Martin Scorsese films for me.

I think like most people have said though. I don't really have a set rule. But yeah, i'd be very quick to re watch films most times. Either out of wanting to learn from and appreciate a film, out of just pure entertainment (Happy to stick on OT Star Wars any time.) or just to show friends a film i love.

If it is good I will watch it the next day and see if I like it as much after a second viewing.

Depends on the film, but generally not very often. Which is why I cut my buying way back in recent years after realizing I wasn't doing a lot of rewatching, preferring to watch something for the first time.

I pretty much never re-watch something within days. Exceptions would be something like the LOTR films that I saw in the theaters 2-4 times each. But I think all of those were at least a week or two apart still.

Probably 6 months at the very least, but usually a few years. Not sure how some people can watch the same movie multiple times in a week.
