God, M$ doesn't CARE about HD-DVD. They've already said they'd turn to making a BD player just as easily as anything else. They sure as aren't going to buy a studio just to turn the tide. |

As long as there's even a scant trace of HD-DVD out there at all? The answer to your question is: No.

How that last one works, I dunno: Shareholder: "Damn you. You made the ONE decision that could bring the war to a close so everyone can focus on a SINGLE format so we can really start pushing it and making money..... ...oh, wait....Woo-hoo. High five. Thanks." Nothing sadder than a disgruntled shareholder. ![]() |

I gave up visiting sites where Red fans still think HD-DVD has a chance to do anything by die.
It defies all logic, most of them buy into elaborate conspiracy theories but only against them. That aren't really that smart as a whole. Microsoft doesn't care that much about HD-DVD to throw billions at it, if they did they would have by now. The small amount of royalties HDi would bring in if HD-DVD won would be too small to justify spending Multi Billions on a studio. Let along the red tape and time it would take just to get the thing approved and moving forward. They mainly only care about fighting Sony. It doesn't make sense to spend more then you can ever make back. If Microsoft does anything overtly aggressive in paying studios to switch, or buying them out to force their hands they would have anti-competitive claims and with their anti-trust lawsuits still open and the company as a whole under watch that's the last thing they would want. So basically, any Red fan that things MS is going to help their side out must be on some serious drugs or in complete fantasy land |
