Their release of a restored The Curse of Frankenstein (with great extras & 3 alternate aspect ratios) was my favorite disc of 2020
(and there was some good competition from others);
now
Doctor X disc may make my 2021 — I'm excited that the nitrate camera negative was used to restore the black & white version.

Super excited for this release! But is it just me or does the cover look really hastily put together?

I'm pretty sure the cover is the original theatrical poster.

Great News. Hopefully, a Warner Archive release on Blu-ray Karl Freund's Mad Love is in the near future.

I've never seen this (hadn't even heard of it until reading up on The Return of Doctor X, which I saw last year on TCM), but one of my goals this year is to see more pre-Code films, as well as more Fay Wray films, so I assume this is one I need to check out?

This film is arguably Anton Grot's finest hour. Unforgettable sets, some of which were later reused in the follow-up, Mystery of the Wax Museum.

I posted this in the main WAC thread as well, here’s a before and after comparison of the restoration of Doctor X from the UCLA Twitter account (original source linked here):

This looks staggering. And the clips of the long unavailable B&W version show some tantalizing glimpses at a few differences.
Every year since I added Dr. X and Wax Museum to my usual October horror marathon I’ve come to love these films more and more. My first go round with Dr. X I found it a bit of an odd mixture of genres. Now I love it as much as Wax Museum and have to always watch them together.
Cannot wait for this disc. I don’t see anything that will challenge it at disc of the year selection time.
