Big Questions remain

Will it be the same atrocious transfer that SC released on BLU in 2017?
It was abysmal! (The Criterion was still my go to disc)
Fingers Crossed

Will Fidelity In Motion / David M be handling the disc?
If not that will be a red flag for me.

Wish they did some new artwork for it.

I assume Criterion might re-release this in 4K down the line later.

I was wondering when this was going to happen!

I'm assuming I'm correct, but since its Studio Canal, that means they're doing the UK release, right? And that a distributor here in the US will probably release it?

(For example, the new Masque of the Red Death 4K restoration but blu-ray re-release and Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure 4K release, which ended up being released here in the US by Shout! Factory.)

Back in 2017 when SC did their “restoration” release they did a UK and US release. The UK Limited came in a much more sturdy chipboard slipbox, the US Limited which was even sold at Best Buy came in same size slipbox but it was a very cheap flimsy stock.

I had the UK SC Limited but sold it off as fast as I could because the transfer was so bad.

SC might give it a US release or maybe let Criterion have it… but I hope its a perfect transfer and not that 2017 mess SC slipped to people.

Yeah, this is a favorite of mine, but their previous blu-ray had some major issues so I'd need to hear a lot more about this before I make any decisions.

I'll be all over this as long as they walked back the garbage plaguing the remaster. Quite a bit of it looked like DNR + encode gremlins and maybe bad HDR conversion. So here's hoping!

Great news, been waiting for this one. One of my favorite films

Been holding on to the old Criterion Blu, which I think is still great. The slip packaging is getting a bit worn down though

Managed to get the LE for £15 and kept it even though the Blu is a bit shit. The UHD steelie will make a nice companion piece, hopefully with a betterer encode than the Blu!

This is a big title, yet it's not getting the tat treatment? What gives SC? Anyway, here's hoping it's encoded by FIM.

It's already been given a tat edition on Blu, I think that might be why. Though as it's OOP it wouldn't be a shock if StudioCanal let the 4K steelbook sell through and then released an updated 4K tat set a few months later.

Hopefully this will get the encode it deserves... and come out in a non-steelbook 4K

I really want to pre-order this one but I can’t bring myself to do it based on what their 2017 BLU looked like. I’ll have to wait for reviews or if FiM / David M. Confirms if the worked on the disc - would give me better idea of what to expect.

Never actually seen this, despite diggin' both Bowie and Nic Roeg. I think the cover of Low was from this film, wasn't it?

Anyway, I need SC to release The Graduate and Peeping Tom.

Oh my god I'd love to watch it for the first time again. You're in for a treat. The cookie scene is extraordinarily beautiful in a sea of wonderful moments.

Definitely the cover of Station To Station and I think Low is an altered still from the film. It’s a very good film.
