Taking its name from the ironic moniker for late 1960s and '70s New York, Fun City Editions is a boutique label focused on reissues of maverick repertory cinema and music that can best be described as works that exist "outside of their time."

Spanning an array of genres, artists and countries, but with a unifying focus on forgotten and overlooked treasures, each Fun City release, be it a Blu-ray or vinyl LP, will present new restorations and comprehensive extras which contextualize and illuminate the artistic and historic value of the piece.

Q & A
-Booklets and Slipcovers are only available for the first pressing.
-As for now (April 21, 2024), no OCN titles will be available after they sell out on Vinegar Syndrome website, except Morvern Callar and Radio On. Maybe we'll be surprised in the future but it is how it is for now.

Frank Perry’s Rancho Deluxe is coming from Fun City, with a Nick Pinkerton extra. He attributes it to Severin, but this could be a misattribution.

I don't see Severin releasing Rancho Deluxe. Fun City posted a video the other day about the Fun City guys, which includes Joe Spinell, who has a role in the film. I've been wanting a blu-ray release of Rancho Deluxe forever.

FCE are big fans of Severin, but not officially affiliated.

I START COUNTING (1969) is coming soon (around Halloween) in a new restoration from Fun City.

For more on that release and an in-depth discussion of ALPHABET CITY, check out Jonathan “Fun City Editions” Hertzberg on the Just The Discs podcast today discussing his label. Thanks to jmilo61 on the Vinegar Syndrome thread for the alert.

Picked this up today along with 2 of the VS titles. It's kind of fun starting in on the ground floor of a label. I will have ALL of their releases! Well...BOTH of them, anyway.

Same boat... along with Cauldron. From the way both have started I'll stay on board (budget willing) for a long time with both..

I'd say they're off to a strong start.

All of their announced releases so far are very intriguing films that I hadn't heard of previously, so I'm very excited about this label.

Since Alphabet City and I Start Counting are both MGM licences, I hope that they might be able to rescue Robert Downey Sr.'s Pound which can certainly be described as maverick and is something that I've only been able to see in the most wretched quality.

Thanks, Yami.

We have been told by the studio that there are rights issues with POUND. Not sure of the details beyond that.

Gonna get my order put in for the first two titles come October. Do their spines have numbers (i.e. 1 for Alphabet City, 2 for I Start Counting) like some other labels are doing?

That's a darn shame, I'm glad to hear that you asked it about it though. Hopefully Downey Jr.'s deep pockets will one day save it.

I don’t know if you're looking for suggestions, but I’m once again begging a new boutique label for But I’m a Cheerleader.

Ha, keep them coming. That appears to be a Lionsgate title. Lionsgate rarely, if ever, sub-licenses their titles.
