I can tell you this. This was initially planned as a pressed disc. It was listed on the Sony's press site, about a year ago, and then, after a few delays, dissapered.

The planned extras at the time were: audio commentary with Martha Coolidge and some reunion extra.

I believe they're both newly produced extras, since they weren't on DVD..? Anyway, it will be interesting to see whether they dropped those extras.

This is the first Sony Choice title that is tempting, but I will never ever pay $28 for a BD-R, so I guess I'm glad I always felt like this movie was only pretty good, not great.

I just preordered it. $28.70 for a BD-R is lunacy, but I love this film.

Sony Choice Collection. My Choice is to not pay money for BD-Rs.

BD-R= Day 0 Purchase.

This is in my top 10 of all time, but even then I'm not paying more than $15 for a BD-R. Thanks Sony!

I notice that, unlike Amazon, Best Buy and Barnes & Noble don't actually list this as a BD-R. If we really want to kill the Sony Choice line, we need to organize a whole lot of people to order from Best Buy at the same time, and then all return them and complain that they are BD-Rs. If enough people did it, Best Buy would notice, and probably decide it's not worth carrying burned discs, eliminating one of the major outlets for Sony unless they do proper discs. It's a silly idea, but have *you* got a better one?

This almost feels like the Blu-ray equivalent of Pyrrhic victory. Yes, one of my favorite 80s teen comedies, one I've been waiting years to come out on Blu-ray, is finally here. But on an overpriced BD-R.

Really hoping Indicator releases this eventually. Hell, I can't be the only one who thinks that Mill Creek would've been a better option than this.
