I guess some either missed this one in theaters or just didn't like it, but dang, my wife and I loved this movie. It was really an edge-of-you-seat thriller from start to finish. The tensity level is similar to THE CALLING, also with Halle Berry.
Is the movie perfect? No, but it's still an enjoyable nail-bitter. I highly recommend this one. Released Today! |

no, the movie is NOW at 1 hour and 21 minutes....which is 14 minutes SHORTER than the actual theatrical version.
The guy in the video has every right to be angry, and I agree with him, I'm very upset about this as well....but I had to laugh at his rant and consistent profanity. I mean....he's a ticking time bomb about to EXPLODE, and while I'm upset as well......I'm not going to have a heart attack over it like this poor guy, LOL. But, all that aside....SHAME ON UNIVERSAL for doing this to us. I LOVED the theatrical version and I bought this film expecting it to be the same film I saw in theaters. |

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1458169/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1 The scenes mentioned in the guys ranting video, I remember them. I'll have to watch my bluray to see if they are actually missing, but the back of my bluray says the run time is 1 hour and 22 minutes, which is NOT 95 minutes like IMDB says. |

IMDb has been wrong a bunch of times. It’s not a reliable source for runtimes.
I saw it in theaters and it was less than 90 minutes. |

However, I'm ALSO seeing some that say 82 minutes. Considering the video posted earlier actually describes missing scenes from the theatrical version, I would lean towards certain scenes were actually TRIMMED OFF for unknown reasons. I suppose it's one word against another about the official running time....but we now have a witness supporting missing scenes being trimmed away. Evidence now leans towards THAT. Hi there. I'm the guy who made that video (and yeah...lol believe me, I know it was over the top. But what can I say, just been dealing with allergies throughout the week among other stuff and...well...just blew up lol).
To Chaotic...the version I saw was 1 hour 35 minutes long. Sadly, if you want to stream the film on websites? It has that version. I've had a couple people mention that they saw the 95 minute cut on Netflix, but those two folks were in the UK. So not sure if US Netflix has that version. For example, when Halle Berry confronts the guy after the cop on a motorcycle has been attacked? There's a sequence of the guy running at her with a knife. She gets back into her car, backs up, and the guy stops. That bit of the scene is cut out. When Halle Berry gets to the police station and gets on the phone? She actually leaves a message to her ex-husband, telling him what has happened. That is cut out. And of course, more stuff which amounted to about 14 minutes cut out. I even had a friend on facebook who the same thing happened, and he confirmed it to me. I wasn't the only one. So yeah, this is why places like Amazon and many places say '95 or 94 minutes' but the actual release is 82 minutes. Last edited by ramboraph; 11-10-2017 at 10:27 PM. Reason: misspelling |

And to further add to this 'WTF' tale...
Many official/professional reviewers like this one, when the film came out in theaters? Said that the film was 1 hour 35 minutes long http://www.reelviews.net/reelviews/kidnap Just like I had mentioned. Just scroll down to 'running time 1:35:00'. Many upon many 'official reviews' had that running time. One comment on my video mentioned: "I bought a copy of the Blu-ray from amazon and it has a label that says 1 hr 34 minutes. That's odd." I've had people from the US, like myself, on my facebook mention to me 'when I saw it in the theaters, I saw a 95 minute version' So I'm not going crazy or anything. Something weird is going on... |

No worries about the video. It's still tame compared to OCP Communications' Robocop Remake rant. I enjoy your channels.
14 minutes cut is crap. Its not something minor like The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones dvds and blu rays where 15 seconds of dialogue was added or 30 seconds of an action sequence was edited differently. Come to think of it, this is far worse than what George Lucas did with the Special Editions. I never caught KIDNAP in the theater, but if an underrated movie that I liked such as MIAMI VICE or A WALK AMONG THE TOMBSTONES had 15 minutes cut I would be PISSED. UNIVERSAL needs to remaster their older classic movies instead of re cutting new under performing movies. |
