This movie will always hold a special place in my heart because my grandfather bought it for me on VHS when it came out. I owned it on VHS, I own it on DVD at the moment and I'll likely upgrade to Blu-ray.

It's funny that this was announced. My sister was just asking me today if Free Willy was on blu yet or coming soon. Now I can say yes. I will be getting this on release day. A fun filled flick from my early teen years!

It is a child favourite. But I think these days the coolest thing about it is Michael Madson and the native american guy. I find the kid a little annoying and so too the woman (from point break).

For those interested, the amusement park where Willy's show is at is the real theme park Six Flags Mexico. The tank and theatre are both still there.
