I know this comes out soon but does anyone have any Ideas to what special extras it'll have ? I hope it had the 4.5 hour doc thats going to be in the 3 dise special edition coming soon also !!

Weinstein Co. has confirmed final specs and box art for 'Halloween,' which will hit Blu-ray with a new four-hour documentary and a director's cut of the film with 11 minutes of unrated footage.

As previously reported, Rob Zombie's hit remake will make its two-disc Blu-ray debut in time for trick-or-treating on October 21, two weeks after a three-disc standard-def DVD re-issue hits stores. (Weinstein previously-released single- and two-disc standard DVD versions of the film late last year.)

Spread across two BD-50 dual-layer discs, the Blu-ray of 'Halloween' will include all of the same extras as found on the three-disc DVD, including the all-new four-hour-plus documentary "Michael Lives," three additional featurettes ("The Many Masks of Michael Myers," "Re-Imagining Halloween," "Meet the Cast"), an audio commentary by Zombie, 17 deleted scenes, casting sessions, screen tests, and a blooper reel.

It's not a Warner release, so it shouldn't be an issue.

Yeah if weinstiens follow the mist specs probably be true hd audio.

I am not a big fan of the remake but i still want it because I own every version (different types like tv cuts, workprints etc) of all the halloween movies. I saw the dvd version of this in Walmart yesterday which suprised me because usually walmart doesnt break release dates but I do want to see how this will turn out on blu.

I can't wait for this one. I was reluctant to watch it the first time, as I heard all the " Rob Zombie ruined the movie" comments, so I waited to rent the DVD when it came out and loved it. Reguardless of all the extras this is a day one purchase for me

Ah, too many movies this season. Iron Man, Sleeping Beauty, Indiana Jones, Hulk, Halloween, Bond...all just in this month.

I really, really want to buy this one, but I guess it depends on how well I can control myself when I go to pick up Hulk. Loved the movie, would be great for Halloween night...

I had originally read that all versions of the film would be available on this blu-ray. I cannot find any specs on this thing except that it is unrated. Anyone know if they pulled these features?

I'm looking forward to this. I only saw the workprint before it was released in theaters. I never saw the final cut.

My status at playusa says "packing" so probably will ship today or tomorrow!

Really looking forward to this, I thought zombie did this film perfectly. Perfect combo of gore, humor, and sex for a classic horror flick. I did not think it was scary or suspenseful AT ALL until michael finished killing all the friends and started going after Laurie. which is fine because it put the climax where it belonged.

Still freaks me out though... the girl who played michaels now dead sister in the beginning, was the girl who played 5 year old jenny in Forest Gump. Love that movie, weird seeing that girl naked and getting banged by her boyfriend.

EDIT: how many different versions of this film are there? I saw the one where michael escapes during a rape

That was the directors cut. The theatrical version had Michael escape during a transfer to another asylum, he killed like 6 guards in the process
