Default too much EE + unfunny = fail disc

I just tried to watch this movie. Is it ever horrible! Fast forwarded most of it before giving up.

On the PQ side, I noticed this title has SO much edge enhancement it's actually distracting in places. Could be the worst EE I've ever seen on a Blu-ray. Everyone's head has a line drawn round it. There's a wide shot of a sailboat where you can see this black fuzzy edge against the white sails. Ok, nuff said.

Generally, if I am watching a movie, I don't just hit fast forward. What were you fast forwarding to? Just skipping portions of the story or what?

For a chick flick it's better than sitting through anything starring Matthew McConaughey...

Since you asked ... In an impatient mood I'll watch a bit, if boring fast forward to an arbitrary location, watch a bit more, repeat. Occasionally I get hooked midway through, in which case I re-start from the beginning and watch the film properly.

I do this as a time-efficient way of "auditioning" lots of titles, especially comedies (research interest of mine), for maximum exposure to content. Esp. for all the garbage in HD on cable. I'm a swine rooting around in the dirt for the rare truffle.

I'm generally looking for decent comic premises, good writing (line for line as well as plot & scene construction) and interesting performances. In this case I stopped for Dan Ackroyd's appearance, then switched it off after a perfectly stupid scene featuring a guy with a 10-second memory. As far as I'm concerned 50 First Dates is Memento being misplayed for trite laughs. But that's just a matter of personal preference.

Fun movie...REALLY OLD Blu-Ray.

I think I paid 10 dollars for it brand new.

For what it is, I love it.

Does anybody have the UPC code for the Widescreen DVD version of this film? Mine must have been misprinted because it doesn't have it printed on the back.
