Post List of 4K UHDs that include a new Blu-ray (new thread)

Previous thread: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=300046

The user who started the previous thread appears to be rarely active on this site now, having only posted 3 times this year. Additionally, the old thread has not been updated since 2021.

As such, I'm restarting this thread with the intention of keeping it more up-to-date. Please comment below with any new editions and I'll add them.

List of UHDs that include a NEW Blu-ray. New master, new bonus features, or released by a new studio.

#

A

* The Apartment - Includes new Kino Lorber blu-ray with exclusive audio commentary.

B

C

* Citizen Kane - New Blu-ray from Criterion, previous Blu-ray release from Warner Bros.

* Close Encounters of the Third Kind - "the UHD version of the new transfer preserves the lowlights which the new BD crushes down to shit." [source]

D

E

F

G

H

* Hugo - New blu-ray from Arrow, includes 2D & 3D versions on the same disc. Previous releases from Paramount had the two versions on separate discs.

I

* It's A Wonderful Life - UK release, US release does not include the remastered B&W blu-ray.

J

L

* The Limey - Blu-ray only sold in the U.S. through this set.

M

* The Matrix - One review on this site says: "Warner seems to have opted for a poor SDR conversion made out of the HDR UHD disc... and it looks terrible. Luminance is all over the place: white tones are brighter than they should be, contrasts are completely washed out and color grading looks nothing like Bill Pope's cinematography (I mean from the 2004 re-issue mastering). It could have been a very strong disc, but this is just unwatchable."

N

* Needful Things - TV Cut on Blu-ray, theatrical on UHD.

O

P

* Paprika - Includes remastered blu-ray.

R

* The Ring Collection - First ever release of The Ring Two on blu-ray in North America.

S

* The Shawshank Redemption - Non NA releases only.

* The Silence of the Lambs - Includes new blu-ray from Kino Lorber, previous blu-ray released by Criterion. Both are derived from the same 4K transfer, but possess different bonus features.

* Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga - New bonus features for The Last Jedi only.

T

U

V

W

* World War Z - New 4K master on a remastered blu-ray for theatrical cut only. Extended cut is included on blu-ray, but not derived from the new master. Blu-ray and 4K discs include a 5.1 audio track, while Paramount's original release included a 7.1 track.

X-Z

---------------------------------------------

New discs, without a remaster or new bonus features. Audio/encode changed only

* Batman Begins - NOT included on the list because: "Batman Begins does NOT use the newer 4K transfer for the pack-in BD, it's the previous transfer given a new AVC encode and DTS-HD 5.1 audio (old release was VC-1 and Dobly TrueHD 5.1)."

* Lara Croft: Tomb Raider - NOT included on the list because: "It should be noted that the new Tomb Raider disc uses an old 2009 AVC encode however. The lossless audio is new though."

* Prestige (non-US, WB not Disney) - NOT included on the list because: "Prestige is not a new master, it's a re-encode that does improve on the UK's original release (codec) and the US's original release (bitrate), but it's the same old master."
