Interesting that this is the first Marvel movie they're going with 2 designs for. Not that it's not deserving or doesn't fit, but considering the premise of Civil War is the 2 sides, that would've been a good one to start with. Maybe even Endgame, one with the living, one with the Snapped. I dig it well enough, but I'm not sure which one I prefer more. Given my inner completionist, I may try and snag both (which is one reason why I hope they don't make this too much of a habit going forward )

I really like the Namor cover, but it feels weird not getting the one with the Wakandan characters.

Namor one is clearly more colorful and reminds me of the yellow/green ragnarok poster a bit which is cool but this is supposed to be a Black Panther steel.. but the art on that first one looks like a carnival airbrush job. Pretty undecided on this.

Exactly! It's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and doesn't include Black Panther or Wakanda/Wakandians but the Namor cover and inside is just better.

To be honest I like the second one. It looks very busy but I like the use of colors both inside and out. The first one seems like it is missing something. If I could only get one, then it will be the second one.

Best Buy is definitely trying to get people to double dip here, huh?

I hope this doesn't become common practice going forward.

It's going to be a pain collecting all the MCU films' steelbooks if they start introducing variants.

I haven’t seen the movie yet.

The top one “says Black Panther” more to me though. Not sure which to get.

Wonder why they decided to offer 2 steelbooks for this?

Not a fan of either, which saddens me. But if I decide to get one, the Wakandans is my choice. Hopefully Zavvi has a better offering.

That is a good question, Maverick. And I think the answer to that would probably vary depending on who you ask.

Personally, I am a big fan of the MCU. I really enjoyed Wakanda Forever and thought it was pretty good. As for your question, in terms of the sheer scale and especially world building, I do think Part 2 is at least one of the biggest Marvel films in Phase 4. The introduction of Namor and his city is a pretty big deal for the MCU as well. This is a character who will certainly play a role in future installments.

But the Marvel films have gotten so "big" over time that it's hard to really answer that question. They've all been kind of "big" lately. That's why, to me, I don't see anything that would really justify having 2 different steelbooks for the film compared to other Marvel films. And that's why I made the money joke.

But, thematically speaking, they likely went with 2 steelbooks to represent the conflict between the two sides in the film. However, I think other MCU entries were more deserving of this variant steelbook treatment - like Civil War. But that sadly never happened. And as others mentioned, surprisingly, Age of Ultron did have variant covers. Go figure! haha

Was expecting the steel to just have the teaser poster as the cover. I'm actually glad they went with this route & having a dual release with both a Wakandan & Talokan version is pretty cool imo.

Feel like I should get the first one because it represents “Wakanda Forever” better, but that Namor one looks GOOD.
